Australia’s cost of living crisis has worsened in recent months, which has led to an increase in the number of people seeking support to meet their basic needs.
“There are families that cannot afford three meals a day”
Several frontline services have told us they are struggling to meet this increased demand with some organisations being forced to turn away families in need or reduce the support they can provide.
The cumulative impacts of COVID-19 and the 2022 floods together with rising rates of domestic and family violence, homelessness and cost of living increases mean more and more people are turning to charities and support organisations to meet their basic needs and seek support for food, fuel, and pharmacy vouchers.
The increasing costs of living are putting financial strain on all households across the country, but more so those individuals and families who are already experiencing hardship.
Vulnerable Queenslanders are being forced to make impossible choices between putting food on the table for their family or paying the electricity bill. Some are going without meals, others opting to not use the lights. The situation right now is very difficult for a lot of people.
You can provide immediate support by FUNDING the donation of vouchers to purchase everyday essentials such as groceries, fuel and medications.
Right now we are urgently seeking donations of grocery, fuel and pharmacy vouchers.
